BonAccord is a virtuoso duo based in the Scottish Borders performing lively, inventive acoustic music on viola and guitar. They play a potpourri of gypsy swing, ragtime, jazz standards of the 1930s and 40s, Latin dance rhythms, blues, transcriptions from the classical repertoire, and Celtic traditional with attitude. Their sound sparkles and creates a convivial ambience at weddings, fund raisers and social gatherings. Upbeat music to surprise and delight.
Stephen Tees is a classically trained viola player and seasoned orchestral session musician. He has taught viola at Trinity College London and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and recorded extensively. Passionate about swing jazz, he is now enjoying the freedom that comes from extemporized playing.
Andy Smith is a finger-style guitarist with a diverse folk-jazz background. Influenced early on by the playing of John Renbourn, he has been a member of various Ceilidh bands and fiddle-guitar duos centred around the English home counties and currently runs the Kelso Folk Festival.
